Ryhill FC fun day for 12 year-old Tom Hemmings – £500
Last year Ryhill FC under 12's player Tom Hemmings was diagnosed with an optic nerve glioma tumour and has been undergoing regular chemotherapy to treat it ever since diagnosis. Chemotherapy has an extensive list of side effects which Tom is experiencing which are not only exhausting for him but also for his family. On Saturday 8th February a family fun day was held at Ryhill FC to raise money for Tom and his family to go away on a nice holiday and take a break from it all, at a time when Tom is fit enough to do so. We recently attended an event at Eaden's Bar in Barnsley to support our good friend Gerry Taggart in raising £2000 for local charities. £1500 was donated to Barnsley Hospice and £500 to Walkings Brilliant charities.

Provide sports equipment to support mental health sessions. 15 x adults football kits, 10 x footballs, 2 x full sets of Netball bibs and 10 x Netballs.
Alfie’s Squad – £500
GoFundMe support of a charity fundraising event which involved abseiling down the main stand at Liverpool’s Anfield stadium. Alfie's Squad is a non-profit organisation which supports children bereaved by suicide in and around Merseyside. It was set up by then-9-year-old Alfie, who lost his dad in 2017 at the age of 8. Now at the age of 14, Alfie has worked tirelessly to raise awareness about the lack of specific support for children bereaved by suicide. Chris Kirkland took part and completed the abseil as part of the fundraising team.

Help young people and children who are victims or at high risk of sexual exploitation and help children and young adults who are looked after by local authority.
Carlton Palmer Sheffield Half Marathon – £500

Halton Haven Hospice – £500
GoFundMe support of 34 mile Sandstone Trail walk, raising money for the hospice. Chris Kirkland took part and completed the walk as part of the fundraising team.
Forget me Not Hospice – £5000
Children’s Hospice which supports children with life shortening conditions, plus their families. Donation will fund the set up and furnishing of a serenity garden.
Speedo Mick – £500
JustGiving support of Lands’ End to John O Groats challenge, raising money for Mental Health and Suicide prevention charities. Joined on the walking challenge whilst climbing up to the summit of Scafell Pike by our very own Chris Kirkland.
November 2022
Donation to Lucy Neale – £1000 (4 x £250)
Support for a family whose young son Freddie was suddenly hospitalised in a critical condition and diagnosed with a rare form of epilepsy. Freddie has spent numerous weeks in hospital and the epilepsy has now stabilised from aggressive and uncontrollable. The donation helped the family mentally through a very tough and uncertain time in their lives.

Donation to Community Recovery (Kendray Hospital) Netball and Football – £456
Assisted a young family of 2 girls and a boy to continue with their sports programmes whilst their mum was taken into hospital with Mental Health issues.

Ahead of the Game foundation – £5000
Dave Bolton & Dominic Matteo charity which supports individuals and families that are going through a personal battle with brain cancer. The charity provides free rehabilitation and supports financially along side implementing fully funded physical and mental health wellbeing programmes.

Kath’s lads charity team – £60
Kath’s lads’ charity team was set up in memory of Kath Valenti who worked at a local 5 a side centre and collapsed from a heart attack and sadly died despite the best efforts of all around. The events have impacted on several individuals’ mental health after witnessing the events. WATCH responded to a request with 2 dozen footballs for the centres football charity fundraising tournament.
June 2022
Tommy Spurr – £5000
Treatment for 3-year-old Rio Spurr who was diagnosed with a rare form of kidney cancer and support for his parents. Tommy was a playing teammate of several members of the group.
